How much will it cost me to work with RT?
It is free to register, and there are no ongoing fees. Educators pay 10% of their salary to ReadyTeacher, as a commission.
Am I a contractor or an employee?
Unless ReadyTeacher is your primary source of income on an ongoing basis, you are a contractor. You need to supply ReadyTeacher with your ABN. Payroll tax will be withheld by ReadyTeacher from 1 July 2017. Apply for an ABN here.
What's the hourly rate?
Current pricing for 2017 is as follows:
Certificates I & II - $45/hour (less 10% paid to ReadyTeacher).
Certificates III & IV, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, ELICOS - $55/hour (less 10% paid to ReadyTeacher).
Superannuation is calculated according the amount of personal income received.
Who pays my superannuation?
Every contractor with ReadyTeacher receives superannuation contributions. This is paid by the college at the rate of 9.5% and reimbursed to your nominated superannuation fund by RT. Superannuation is paid on a quarterly basis.
How do I get paid?
You send us and invoice and we deposit your wages as soon as payment is received from the college.
When does work become available?
Work is seasonal and it can be difficult to predict when our service will be in high demand.
English language teachers are popular in the morning hours, and we are available from 6.00 a.m. for colleges to phone in. Educators of all courses are also required for emergency relief, as well as longer holiday and sick leave periods.
Colleges are invited to offer ongoing positions to our educators and we have kept our introduction fee low to encourage offers for ongoing roles.
Can I get a full-time or ongoing job through ReadyTeacher?
Yes you can, and many teachers have been offered direct employment by colleges after being introduced by our service.
We want to keep our service alive, so we ask that teachers observe our 12-month exclusivity contract, that means teachers are not permitted to direct contract to colleges we've introduced them to inside 12 months. We are passionate about job security and have included a very affordable Finder's Fee for colleges who want to buy-out a teacher.
